Let the build begin

Still in building mode waiting on a couple more parts, but the frame came. It looks amazing. Can’t wait to get it all together and start to ride this weapon!!

The best bike I have had

I have been riding my claymore for three weeks now and I must say that I am super happy about it. It took me a bit of time to get used to the geometry (surely because of the high pivot). However I am blown away by its abilities in the tech trails, and how well it flies on jumps. I am very pleased with how the bike works and looks, even if there are still some little things that could be improved (as always;)…

Build in Progress

I am in the process of building the frame. The order process was easy, and the Deviate team always communicated well. My frame arrived on time and undamaged. The Rowan Red looks so sick in person! Once the build is complete, another detailed review will follow.

Claymore is my new favorite bike!

Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed with the 2024 UDH Claymore!
Carbon Layup – 5 stars
Paint – 5 stars
Hardware quality & serviceability – 5 stars
Ride characteristics – 5 stars

As soon as you open the box you can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into creating the Claymore. You can see that any exposed carbon is well formed, no frayed edges or pits, everything is very clean, and the paint job is excellent. The red color is very nice, a deep red color in the shade and a nice bright red in the sun. All the hardware is high quality and with grease ports on all major pivots it makes maintaining bearings easy.
Ride characteristics of the Claymore are simply amazing. Before riding the Claymore, I was very hesitant to purchase a high-pivot frame design, fearing that all the talk was hype. I am simply amazed by how well the Claymore rides! For a 165mm travel bike, the Claymore is surprisingly nimble (which I did not expect) while still being able to smooth out rock gardens with ease. The Claymore is easy to get off the ground, and again to my surprise, is excellent at jumping. Selecting a line is quick as the bike wants to move around, not being sluggish or overly planted at low or high speeds. With the high pivot design the rear end is free to move up, back, and out of the way. I have not noticed any issues with the rear wheel getting hung up in technical rock sections. The only feedback I’ve gotten is under very hard braking where you will feed a small amount of pedal kickback.
Build setup – Rear shock: RockShox Super Deluxe Coil w/ 500lb spring (rider weight 200lbs), Drivetrain: SRAM GX Transmission UDH (126 link chain is perfect with a 32T chain ring)
